Established for 25 years, we are a professional Bed and Breakfast, guest house and accommodation company based in Strathaven.

The Sheiling is a 3 star B n B (Visit Scotland) which specialises in accommodation for single travellers at reasonable prices.

If breakfast is required there is a varied breakfast menu ranging from Continental breakfast to Full Cooked Breakfast with options for vegetarian and special dietary requirements at our Strathaven guest house.

  • Each room has tea/coffee facilities, TV/DVD and is serviced daily.
  • There are ensuite rooms available.
  • Discounted rates are given for long term bookings.

LOCATION

Situated on the edge of the rural town of Strathaven, the Sheiling is 5 minutes walk from the centre of town where there are several good restaurants and many takeaways. Also 5 minutes walk away, there is a large Sainsbury’s supermarket. There are a few nice gift shops to browse around.

If travelling on the M74, you reach Strathaven in 5 minutes along the A71 (signposted to Kilmarnock at junction 8). You take the first turning to the left after the mini roundabout then straight on to The Sheiling 0.5 mile on the left.

There is parking within the garden for cars and small vans.

Dogs are welcome by arrangement. There is a good walk from the guest house to open countryside in 2 minutes.

For those interested in history, the ruin of Strathaven Castle sits in a lofty position above the A71 and Mary Queen of Scots is reputed to have stayed there.

For those who like walking, there are very good country walks or Strathaven has a lovely park complete with boating pond and miniature railway all within distance of our accommodation.
