Home Farm was originally the factor’s house for Stobo Castle (next door), and is a traditional stone-built farmhouse with a Georgian courtyard of 1805, and an entrance under a Scottish Baronial turret.

Georgina and Hugh Seymour warmly welcome guests to stay for bed and breakfast (dinner and picnics also available with advance notice).

Reached by a quarter mile drive the house is set in a beautiful landscape of mature trees and gardens. Staying here you have the added advantage of being able to visit the famous 5 acre Japanese Water Garden (see below), hidden a couple of hundred yards away across the croquet lawn in the valley below. This is not normally open to the public, except under Scotland’s Garden Scheme once a year in October.

The house has three twin bedrooms. Two have a private bathroom and one has a dressing room with an extra single bed and bathroom en suite.
