King John’s Lodge is a Grade II listed Jacobean manor house that was beautifully restored by the current owners and has been open to guests for many years.

The house has four double rooms all with ensuite bathrooms available for guests and the house is situated in a beautiful are of England with great links to London.

The legend goes that the house is named after Jean le Bon the King of France. The luckless monarch was captured at the battle of Poitiers by the English Black Prince in 1356 and was imprisoned at the Tower of London. He was later taken to King John’s Lodge where he was held prisoner with a ransom set at three million crowns!
