Crystal Palace National Sports Centre
Built in 300 acres of what was part of the grounds of the former Victorian Exhibition centre, the Crystal Palace Sports Centre is located in Southeast London on Sydenham Hill and is just ten miles from the centre of London.
It is one of the largest sports centres in the country and has a capacity of 24,000 and is a major international athletics venue. It hosts the annual athletics Grand Prix . As well as the athletics track and indoor sports facilities, Crystal Palace also has an international aquatic centre with 5 level diving boards and also has a 50 meter swimming pool.
The centre is managed by Greenwich Leisure Limited. The facilities at Crystal Palace have been made available to the Olympians in training for the 2012 Olympics in Britain. The new Olympic stadium may supersede the Crystal Palace after the Olympics as the national sports centre.
