Mains of Murthly Cottages offers lovely walks within the 600 acre farm where wildlife abounds. Trout fishing on a private stretch of River Tay. Aberfeldy is situated in the very heart of Scotland 30 miles north of Perth off the A9. Its position on the old "Road to the Isles" offers an excellent road network, permitting comfortable travel to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Oban, all within an easy 2 hours drive. The nearest railhead is Pitlochry 15 miles away.
Donald's Cottage sleeps 4 in a double bedroom with king size bed with en-suite bathroom and twin room with en-suite shower - the accommodation is on one floor. Hill Cottage sleeps 3 in a double bedded room and single room with a bathroom with bath/separate shower. The accommodation is on two floors. The cottages have a sitting room with open fire and television with DVD player and video. Both have kitchen with washing machine, cooker, microwave and fridge freezer. Hill Cottage also has a dishwasher. Biomass full central heating. Linen and towels provided. Garden area and barbeque. Ample parking space. Wifi available.
Mains of Murthly farm extends to approximately 550 acres and residents are welcome to make full use of the area. The farm has much to offer and there are many walks within the boundaries. Entirely at their own risk residents may go anywhere on the farm property, but they are asked to keep to the edges of the fields and make use of rough tracks. Gates must be kept closed. Dogs are welcomed by arrangement but must be kept on a lead at all times. Trout fishing is available on the farm beat on the famous River Tay - permits on request. The cottages are open all year round, and off season prices and short breaks can be arranged on request.
