Great Glen Holidays is a unique rural retreat offering a range of self-catering accommodation with unparalleled mountain views of Ben Nevis and the magnificent Great Glen. The self-catering chalets and lodges are situated on a 500 acre private Highland Estate and are the nearest accommodation to Nevis Range for mountain bike trails and gondala access to the mountain. Only 3 miles from Fort William for shopping, restaurants, swimming pool etc.
There are some great mountain bike trails at Nevis Range a mile away, and we are ideally situated for climbing Ben Nevis, and hill walking. On the farm you can fly fish for brown trout, walk to the river Lochy, experienced riders can arrange a one hour hack and all can see the Highland cattle in their natural environment. The quiet location amongst pine trees make Nevis Lodges a favourite choice for couples and families alike. Great Glen Holidays has a choice of pet friendly accommodation from a two bedroom chalet to a a large 5 bedroom eco-lodge; we offer agro-tourism in Scotland on our working highland farm.
Great Glen Chalets: There are eight self-catering holiday homes individually sited amongst pine trees with superb views of three of the highest mountains in the British Isles.These two-bedroomed chalets sleep 4/5 persons in one double and one twin bedroom (extra person on sofa bed if required). Fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, fridge with small freezer compartment. The large pine panelled living room has TV, DVD, and CD player. Bathroom with bath & shower. Laundrette facilities on site. Balcony with deck chairs.
Nevis Lodge: This superb eco lodge is set amongst natural woodland and has spectacular views of Ben Nevis from its full-length windows. The underfloor heating is powered by ground source and there is a central wood burning stove in the main room. The standard of accommodation is equivalent to 5 star. The large living area has light streaming in from all directions and oak flooring throughout. A spiral staircase leads up to a balcony sleeping loft at one end, and there are stairs up to a spacious bedroom and balcony overlooking the living room at the other end. There is a well- equipped modern kitchen including a dishwasher and breakfast bar. In the living area there is a large flat screen TV, WiFi connection and cosy seating around the log fire. Sleeping 8 in 4 bedrooms (3 double and one twin) and one sleeping loft, there are 2 bathrooms, with showers and baths.
Lone Pine Lodge: This American log house enjoys uninterrupted views of Ben Nevis from its elevated and very private position. It has a large cathedral ceiling, an open plan living space with balcony overlooking trout lochans, rolling hills and the impressive Nevis Range. With three large double bedrooms and two bathrooms Lone Pine comfortably sleeps 6-7 people. The spacious open plan living area has large French windows that lead onto the raised decking and barbeque area. Tastefully furnished with original paintings from local artists and good central heating throughout, the lodge has a warm and homely feel, perfect for complete relaxation and enjoyment of the natural surroundings. Wifi included.Upstairs there is a master bedroom with bathroom and a light mezzanine studio space with a double sofabed, which can be used as an extra bedroom if required. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, large fridge/freezer, dining table and breakfast bar. Experience peace and tranquility from this magical spot with 360˚ panoramic views of the Great Glen and feel free to roam the grounds of this private estate and beyond.Pets allowed (£15.00 per pet per week). By Car: We are located about 3 miles to the North East of Fort William, a short distance from the A82. Look out for the sign to Great Glen Chalets when you reach Torlundy - left turn if coming from the Fort William direction, right turn if coming from the Inverness direction. Proceed down the minor Tomacharich Road for 1km and look for our sign on the right.
