Bed and Breakfast in Icklesham near Rye and Hastings
The Old Vicarage is a classic Georgian house in the heart of 1066 country. The village of Icklesham is close to the historic Cinque Ports of Rye 5m, Winchelsea 2m, and Hastings 7m. There are some fantastic beaches nearby.
Guests are encouraged to make use of the patio and gardens where there are several areas in the sun or shade to take in the fresh air and tranquil surroundings. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, apple orchards with many public footpaths, and a nature conservation wood within easy walking distance from the house.
There are many important houses and gardens to visit nearby including Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, Great Dixter, Scotney Castle, Merriments Gardens, Pashley Manor Gardens, Batemanns, Charleston, Glynde Place, The Gardens and Grounds of Herstmonceux Castle. There are also of course fantastic beaches and plenty of other attractions such as Kent & East Sussex Steam Railway, Herstmonceux Observatory Science Centre, and Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest.

Food & Drink
Breakfast is served in the delightful dining room which leads directly on to the conservatory. Weather permitting breakfast can also be taken outside in our pretty Patio Garden. We are passionate about food and source as much as we can locally; from Rye Farmers Market, the nearby Farm shop and Fraysland Dairy. Our bacon and black pudding comes from the prize winning Winchelsea butcher James Wickens. Exceptional organic sourdough and rye breads are supplied to us by Judges bakery in Hastings, now owned by the creators of the Green & Black chocolate company.
The Queen's Head is a popular, dog friendly award winning 15th Century pub, just three minutes walk away, with outside tables and spectacular views of the Brede Valley, the sea, and Rye
