Holmlea is moments from Lake Windermere. Famous for its spectacular scenery, Lake cruises and wonderful romantic scenic walks. Bowness village, on the shores of Lake Windermere, is close by for restaurants, cafe's and specialist shopping.Holmlea has comfortable bedrooms with high standards of cleanliness throughout and we serve wonderful breakfasts using the finest locally sourced produce.

By Car: Take Junction 36 from the M6 motorway and follow signs for Windermere on the A590 then A591, at Windermere turn left by the Windermere Hotel (which is on right hand side). Follow signs for Bowness on Windermere, go through Windermere village one way system and keep on this road (A5074) until Bowness village is reached (approx 1.5 miles). At the bottom of the hill is a mini-roundabout. Carry straight on. Take the first left into Kendal Road. Holmlea Guest House is about 200 metres on the right. Free parking is available.

By Train: Arriving by train, there are services from London, Manchester, Glasgow and other major cities. Trains stop at Oxenholme. At Oxenholme change trains for Windermere where the line ends.

By Plane: Arriving by Air to Manchester Airport. From the airport it is about two hours travel time to Bowness on Windermere by road.

OUR 4 DOUBLE ROOMS AND 1 TWIN ROOM ARE...en suite with shower, wash hand basin and toilet. OUR 2 SINGLE ROOMS SHARE...a bathroom with shower, wash hand basin and toilet located on the first floor and kept locked for sole use of the single room guests. ALL ROOMS HAVE...Hospitality tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits (replenished daily), flat screen television, hair dryer, fluffy white hand and bath towels, crisp white bed linen, complementary toiletries, bottled water and Wi-Fi access (small charge may be applicable). FREE private off road parking.

Guests who stay 2 nights or more at Holmlea Guest House can enjoy FREE use of our exclusive membership of the Spa at the Macdonald Old England Hotel located within a 3 minute stroll from Holmlea. Take a relaxing swim in the 20 metre heated indoor pool as you admire the views over Lake Windermere. At Lakeside you can visit the Aquarium of the Lakes and ride on the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Steam Railway. The scenery in the Lake District is unsurpassed in England. Walkers can enjoy high and low level walks on either side of the lake or combine a boat trip and walk. Cyclists can cross the lake on the nearby ferry and have a great day on the cycle trails of Claife Heights.
