    By Car: Slapton Manor is located in the heart of England, with good road links to the M1 (junction 15a), M40 (junction 10) and A43.

    From the M1, take the A43 towards Oxford, cross the A5 at the roundabout north of Towcester and then at the next roundabout, by McDonalds, take the third exit for Abthorpe. Travel through the village of Abthorpe, then turn right after half a mile to Slapton.

    From the M40, travel northwards on the A43 to Towcester. At the roundabout by McDonalds, turn left for Abthorpe. Travel through the village of Abthorpe, then turn right after half a mile to Slapton.

    Once you are in Slapton, turn left onto Chapel Lane - the Manor is just past the Church at the top of the hill. If you reach the phone box, or go round a sharp corner opposite Mill Lane, you have gone too far. And don't try to get to use Church Lane, as it does not lead to the church.

    By Bus: Bus Stations at Northampton, Banbury & Milton Keynes.
    Limited bus service to Towcester and no local service.

    By Train: Train Stations at Northampton, Banbury & Milton Keynes.

    By Plane: London Luton, Airport, East Midlands Airport and Birmingham Airport are all approximately 1 hour's drive away.

    Accommodation

    Slapton Manor offers a range of accommodation, all contained in conversions from traditional cow byres and stables on this working farm, to give you a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

    Our spacious ensuite rooms are situated in the stable and hayloft conversion. Each room has a couple of comfortable chairs, tea and coffee making facilities and television. A shared kitchen is also available.

    For those prefer to be self-contained, our studios in the old cow byre have everything on hand for your own use. You can be sure to feel home from home.

    All rooms have thermostatically controlled radiators and double glazing.

    The accommodation is next to the 12th century Manor house where our traditional breakfast is served.

    Leisure

    Slapton Manor is only 3 miles from Silverstone, the home of British motor racing. Well-known for the annual Formula 1 race, there is a host of other meetings and attractions.

    Slapton Manor is within easy reach of the Cotswolds, Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick Castle, Althorpe House, Stowe Gardens and Stoke Bruerne. Closer are Canons Ashby, a superb example of a 17th century house (illustrated on the right), and Sulgrave Manor, ancestral home of George Washington's family.

    Indulge in the shopping at The Centre Milton Keynes, Weedon Antiques and the Heart of the Shires. Try visiting The Old Dairy Farm at Upper Stowe, Wakefield Country Courtyard or the nearby market towns of Towcester, Brackley, Northampton and Banbury.

    For a quieter time, enjoy many picturesque and little known walks over the rolling Northamptonshire Countryside. There are several marked footpaths, such Knightley Way and the Grafton Way.

    Food & Drink

    Breakfast is available between 7.30am and 9am every day. This includes a selection of cereals, fruit juices, grapefruit and yoghurt, followed by a full cooked English breakfast plate. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary needs.

    For an evening meal, or just a drink, there are many good pubs and retaurants to discover close by. Within walking distance you can come to our own pub, the New Inn at Abthorpe, where you will find a range of food, some of it sourced from our own pedigree herds, as well as Hook Norton's traditional beer. We can arrange a barbeque or hog roast for groups who are staying.
