Middle Farm, Brushfield lies on a sunny south-facing hillside high above Taddington Dale - a deep-cut limestone dale along which winds the A6 road.

We have two cottages:

  • Maigold Cottage is a single-storey barn conversion and sleeps 4.
  • Albertine Cottage is a converted barn on two storeys and sleeps 8.

  • Middle Farm is an ideal location for those wishing to explore the rich diversity of life and landscape within the Derbyshire Peak District. This is one of the best rural locations in Derbyshire. Approached along a quiet country lane and surrounded by fields and woodland, Middle Farm is hidden deep in the countryside, yet it is only a short distance from the main A6 road between Bakewell and Buxton.

    Maigold is a superb barn conversion offering spacious self-catering (vacation rental) accommodation in the midst of the beautiful Peak District.   • Albertine - Sleeps 8
    Albertine Cottage is a two storey barn conversion providing an elevated position with stunning views across the valley. The cottage has a large cart entrance with glazed doorway, flagstone entrance hallwayand an attractive upstairs/balcony. There is extensive use of pine beams throughout, including exposed trusses in upstairs bedrooms. Click here for details...
    Costs between £740 and £1060 per week.

  • Facilities

    MAIGOLD:
    Facilities in the cottage include a spacious lounge with tasteful furniture and decor, a beamed ceiling, a traditional log-burning stove, colour TV and video. An initial supply of fuel is provided for the stove and central heating and power are included. The large farmhouse-style dining kitchen has fully fitted units and is well equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. A slate floor, pine and oak beams and recessed light fittings lend a special atmosphere to the room.
    There is an attractive double bedroom with exposed roof trusses and an external door to the patio area. The twin bedded room has a beamed ceiling. The capacity and layout of the bedrooms can be changed to suit the needs of the party. Linen is provided.
    The accommodation is completed with an entrance area/front porch and a bathroom and WC. There is also a separate shower room and WC. Ample secure parking is available. Pets and smoking are not permitted. As the cottage is on one level it may be suitable for people with disabilities. Launderette facilities are available if required.
    The sheltered south facing patio has furniture and a barbecue, and wonderful views and there are garden and courtyard areas next to the cottage. Access is available to the owner's woodland and fields by arrangement.

    ALBERTINE:
    Albertine cottage is a two storey barn conversion providing an elevated position with stunning views across the valley. The cottage has a large cart entrance with glazed doorway, flagstone entrance hallwayand an attractive upstairs/balcony. There is extensive use of pine beams throughout, including exposed trusses in upstairs bedrooms.
    The cottage has full central heating and double glazing and is newly decorated and beautifully furnished. The kitchen is equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There are shared laundrette and freezer facilities.
    The dining area looks out across the former farmyard with a view down the valley. There are 2 double bedrooms and 2 twin bedrooms - one of which is on the ground floor. There are two bathrooms upstairs and a separate shower/toilet on ground floor level. There is a spacious lounge with picture views over across the valley.
    Ample secure parking is available. Pets and smoking are not permitted. There are garden and courtyard areas next to the cottage. Access is available to the owner's woodland and fields by arrangement.

        The area around Brushfield has been farmed since Neolithic times and the farm lies close to some of the finest scenery and walking country in the Peak District. Monsal Dale is literally just around the corner and Miller's Dale is only a short walk away.

        It is ideal for those wishing to explore the rich diversity of life and landscape within the Peak District. There are many beautiful walks from the doorstep and Brushfield is an ideal base for those wishing to enjoy an activity holiday with nearby facilities/locations for rock climbing, caving, horse riding, gliding, fishing and mountain biking.

        The cottages are adjacent to the owner's farmhouse and are within easy reach of many local attractions. Bakewell is 7 miles, Buxton 7 miles, Chatsworth 6 miles, Matlock 12 miles, Hope Valley 12 miles and the village of Taddington 1 mile from the farm.
