Welcome to The Lily Pad, self-catering accommodation for two adults (and your dogs) - 'A Peaceful retreat in the North Norfolk Countryside' as well as a few minutes from the clean sandy beaches of Mundesley with lovely walks all around. We are only a 15 minute "quiet lane" walk away from the village of Trunch, which boasts a shop and post office and a great pub!
The Cathedral City of Norwich which is just 30 minutes away by car, where you can 'park and ride' at the airport, situated on the main road from Aylsham into Norwich, and enjoy an array of great shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. We do not cater for children, but welcome well-behaved dogs! The Lily Pad is located about half a mile from the centre of Mundesley, a picturesque seaside village, with a beautiful blue flag sandy beach.

Mundesley has a library, four pubs, fish/chips, also a very good Chinese take-away and restaurant, four tea shop/cafes, a post office, Spar grocers, greengrocer, butcher, chemist and many other shops. It also has a doctors' surgery.

We have four very local golf clubs: Mundesley has an excellent golf course only half a mile away - you can see it from your patio - and Royal Cromer golf course is 8 miles away. Sheringham is 15 miles away, and West Runton is 12 miles away. My husband is retired, and is a member of Mundesley Golf Club, playing off 17. he is always happy to have a game, and can facilitate guest rates, currently £15 per day or £12 for 9 holes.

For anglers, there are lots of local carp lakes and ponds - one in our garden, and another next to the golf course half a mile away - with carp, bream and tench, and of course the Broads are 20 minutes away. Also, for sea anglers, there is a pier in Cromer, and we have a bit of beach to fish off!!

The market towns of Cromer and North Walsham are ten minutes away, and the Norfolk Broads start about 15 minutes away at Stalham. The lovely city of Norwich is a forty minute drive away and there is regular public transport to the city.

There are many Quiet Lanes for walking or bike riding. The Lane outside the gate is a gentle walk or ride to the Trunch Crown ! The area has lots of opportunities for Autumn and Winter walks with or without your dog!

The North Norfolk coast and marshes around Blakeney, Wells and Holkham, are about 40 minutes' drive away.

The Lily Pad is just a few minutes drive and a 20 minute stroll from the seaside village of Mundesley.

An ideal country 'hideaway' for summer holidays, short breaks and weekends away any time of the year. Centrally placed for visits to the North Norfolk Coast, the Norfolk Broads and the City of Norwich, the Lily Pad offers guests a peaceful retreat just minutes from Golf Courses, Horse Riding, Stately Homes and a host of tourist attractions and places to visit.

Whilst our own garden and lake is not generally available, excedptions can be made, and there are various gardens in the area that are open to the public, including, amongst many others, the one at Blickling Hall near Aylsham, once home to Anne Boleyn! there are many other Halls that are well worth a visit, including Holkham and Felbrigg Halls.

Before you explore further afield, discover Mundesley - a well appointed village with an interesting mix of shops, places to eat and a superb sandy beach for relaxing in the sun. The unique Maritime Museum located in an old Coast Guard Lookout is perhaps one of the smallest Museums in Norfolk but packed with interest and local history. If you enjoy golf you are almost spoilt for choice; the local nine hole Mundesley course is just down the road while the cliff top courses of Royal Cromer and Sheringham are both an eay car ride away.

The 'Fine City' of Norwich is a great place to spend a day. A rich array of shops, fascinating museums, a magnificent Cathedral and a Norman Castle are just a few of the delights.
