Hotel Market Harborough.

A delightful family-owned & run country hotel, Dingley Lodge is set in its own grounds on the borders of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. We have spent a long time in the restoration of this lovely Victorian house, with its fine views and its wealth of stripped pine, and have an established and ever-growing reputation for comfortable accommodation, fine home-cooked food and personal service.

The house itself is an elegant Victorian building set in four acres of garden and paddocks in open countryside on the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border. Built for a highly-esteemed farm manager it overlooks the old bustling town of Market Harborough and has extensive views over the Welland Valley and Dingley's own Point-to-Point course.

The map points to the centre of the postcode for Dingley Lodge Hotel and may not indicate the exact position of the property, you can zoom in or out and move the map around to get the best directions for your journey there.

By Car: From the M1 (Junction 20): follow the signs to Market Harborough along the A4304. On reaching the Market Harborough take the A427 towards Corby which passes through the village of Dingley. Immediately upon entering the village look out for our sign and driveway on the right hand side. Dingley Lodge is at the bottom of this drive, some 150 metres from the road.

From the A14: travelling westwards take the A6 towards Market Harborough. After the third roundabout (approximately 3 miles) continue towards Market Harborough, then take the country lane on the right hand side signposted to Dingley . On entering Dingley turn left onto the A427 towards Market Harborough. Look out for our sign on the left hand side just before leaving the village. Dingley Lodge is at the bottom of the driveway some 150 metres from the road.

By Bus: Buses through the village are regular but occasional

By Train: Nearest train station is Market Harborough (2 miles). Trains run in both directions (London /Leicester) every 60 minutes and it is a short taxi ride to our hotel. You can also use Kettering Station but the taxi journey is around 7 miles.

By Plane: Nearest airports are Coventry, Birmingham and Nottingham East Midlands.

Our rooms are named after the local fields. Why not come and stay in 'Lordships' or 'Corkhams' and test for yourself our reputation for fine food and personal service? The house is large enough to accommodate groups of up to16 guests and there is sufficient space outside to park everyone's cars (we've even had a couple of helicopters).

Dingley Lodge offers more than just accommodation. We have a licensed bar, a lounge and a dining room so we can provide our guests with an evening meal.

Should you require more than our on-site facilities, DIngey Lodge is only a couple of miles from the town of Market Harborough where excellent shopping and leisure opportunities are available. Outdoors we have a superb cloistered terrace and guests are welcome to stroll round the grounds and meet the animals.

  • free parking

Like an increasing number of accommodation providers, we've fought shy of Visit Britain/Tourist Board star rating schemes. We prefer instead to stand or fall on the opinions of our customers, some of whom have written generous reviews on internet sites such as Trip Advisor, where Dingley Lodge is rated as the top hotel in Market Harborough.

It's difficult where to place Dingley Lodge in the correct accommodation category since the 'hotel' image implies loads of facilities and often impersonal service. Maybe we should simply badge ourselves as a Licensed Guest House.

Food & Drink

Because of ongoing family commitments we are currently only able to offer evening meals during the week. We can, however, guide you towards several good places to eat locally.

Meals are wholesome and freshly prepared. Guests are offered a traditional English breakfast and evening meals during the week, when our evening table d'hote menu is varied according to guests' tastes. Vegetarian dishes are offered and we can usually cater for other dietary requirements.

Because we prefer to buy fresh produce and cook for individuals, and because a good meal takes time to prepare, meals should be booked in advance.

For residents, typical prices are around £10.00 for a main course and & £4.00 for starters and desserts. Unlike some restaurants we don't charge extra for vegetables!

We have a small range of wines, spirits and of premium bottled and canned beers and soft drinks.

If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let us know in advance of your arrival and we will be happy to try and accommodate your needs.
