Wales

Wales is located in the south-west of Great Britain and is bordered by England to the east, the Bristol Channel to the south and the Irish Sea to the west and north, and by the estuary of the River Dee in the north-east. Wales is the largest principality in the world. Te capital city and home of the Welsh Assembly is Cardiff, in the south. The welsh language is still spoken by 21% of the welsh population and signage in Wales is in both Welsh and English. Two thirds of the population live in the valleys, the north east and the coastal areas. Most of Wales is hilly and mountainous with a rural economy. Wales has three National Parks: Snowdonia National Park, Brecon Beacons National Park and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It also has four Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty: Anglesey, the Clwydian Range, the Gower Peninsula and the Wye Valley. The coastline of South and West Wales has miles of Heritage Coast. The coastline of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, the Gower Peninsula, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, and Ceredigion is particularly wild and impressive. Gower Peninsular, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Cardigan Bay all have clean blue water, white sand beaches and impressive marine life.
