Summer Holiday
This is not a letting term but it deserves some explanation for overseas visitors as it can have a significant impact on costs and availability of all types of
accommodation, from Bed and Breakfast to Hotels.
In Britain, the period between early July and early September is the time when the schools close for the summer holiday. Because of this break in the school year,
this is the time when most British families go on holiday either abroad or in Britain. As a consequence, Bed & Breakfast, Guest House, Self catering and other
types of accommodation are in high demand. If you want to book during this period we strongly suggest that you make your reservations well in advance.
Due to the demand for holiday accommodation, the rates and prices will be at their highest during these 6 weeks (first week of July to the first week of September).
If you can visit Britain either before July or after the first week of September, the rates offered should be significantly less than during these three months.
Many of the tourist locations will also be less crowded.
You will also find that travel costs, especially air fares and hotels, will also be considerably cheaper outside of the Summer Holiday.
