Accommodation and Booking Definitions
These pages contain information regarding the grading schemes used in The UK and Ireland and other information about booking terms. The information may be of some
assistance to overseas visitors who may not be familiar with the terms used in the UK & Ireland. For example, Bed and Breakfast is a common term, here but it is not
so popular in other countries. A Guest House may be another unfamiliar term but it is in fact, a larger Bed & Breakfast or a smaller Hotel and a Hotel is a property
that has fully staffed facilities and 24 hour services. The Tourist Board (Visit Britain) has categorised these various properties but many still choose to use them
as they see fit.
