Be very careful if you are offered a cheap holiday in any advertising. Britain is a very popular tourist destination with many millions of visitors every year. The prices often reflect that popularity, especially during the peak periods or in the most popular tourist destinations like London, which is a peak destination most of the year. Certain property types like Narrow Boats, Campsite, Caravan site etc, with a more seasonal period of popularity may well offer a cheap holiday but other types may not.

Most reputable hotels, guest house and B&B properties will offer one or more of the dicounted schemes described above. They will not generally use the phrase Cheap Holiday. If you see this in any advertising and are tempted to book, make very sure that you fully understand what you are being offered, where the property is located and what is included in the holiday. Do a bit more research than you may normally do. Better to be cautious than disappointed.

You may find that the accommodation is on the outskirts of the city so there may be a lot of travel costs to get to the places you want to go or that it is located in one of the less attractive areas of town. The property itself may not be of a high standard or there may be things that are not included or chages in addition to the offer price quoted.

Having said that, there are cheap holidays to be had and some very good bargains but be very careful. Cheap doesn’t always mean satisfactory.
