Short Break

Short Breaks are offered for accommodation that is either normally rented on a weekly or extended period – self catering cottages, apartments, narrow boats etc.

Where there is availability, it is often possible to book these accommodation types for periods of less than a week. These periods are usually outside the main Summer period when the property can be easily let for a week at a time. They are usually more available during the slacker, off peak periods between the school holidays.

This is a good way to spend a few days in a particular locality. You may pay slightly more per day than you would if you booked for a full week but if your requirement is for a few days away rather than a week, this is an option well worth considering. Some self catering and B & B properties, in remoter areas, may well offer a substantial discount for short breaks during the off peak periods.

Not all self catering properties offer Short Breaks so you may need to check around for those that do and don’t be afraid to ask the owners about their short break offerings. Some owners don’t advertise that they are available.

Discounts, including Short Breaks are indicated by the pound symbol on the Stayinbritain adverts. If you hover over it, it will display the discount offered.
