The Southampton boat show
The Southampton Boat Show is held in association with ITV Meridian and is an exciting experience for anyone with an interest in boats, water pursuits and the latest in design and technology. The show is held in Europe’s largest purpose built show marina and there are a wide range of craft and displays to be enjoyed. With hands-on events, demonstrations and light entertainment, the show has something for everyone and all ages.
The event takes place in September each year over ten days, in Southampton in Mayflower Park, Town Quay. The show is a fantastic spectacle with over a thousand boats and five hundred exhibitors. The main feature of the show is the show marina with a display of crafts of all shapes and sizes.
The show started in 1968 and has been an annual event ever since. It is now the largest on-water boat show in Europe and is organised by National Boat Shows who also organise the other major show, The London Boat Show, which is held in January at Earls Court.
Travel by car to the show is via the M3, M27 or M271 and then follow the show signs. Post code for sat nav is SO15 1HJ. The show entrance is five minutes walk from the main bus terminus. Rail transport is to Southampton Central Railway Station which is ten minutes walk away. There is a free shuttle service between the station and the show.
