The Chelsea Flower Show

Held in 11 acres of the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, this five day event is one of the highlights of the English social calendar. It is the most well known gardening event in the World and attracts many overseas visitors to London.

The show contains gardens designed by leading gardeners, many companies, colleges and other bodies. The central marquee displays the plants and new breeds raised by plant growers and to achieve a Gold award is a major boost to any growers reputation.

Before the show opens, the Queen and other dignitaries are given a preview of the Show. The first two days of the show are only open to Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) members. The last day of the show allows the visitors to buy many of the plants that the growers and exhibitors have used during the show. The Chelsea Flower Show attracts a capacity attendance every year of 157,000 visitors and tickets are only available in advance. They sell out very quickly.
