The Hen night is an important event, especially for the bride to be’s friends but until the 1990’s they were an uncommon event and there were no written guides on what to do or how to organise hen weekends. Since then they have become an essential part of the whole marriage process and getting it just right is a skill and selecting the person who is going to be responsible for organising it is just as important as the event itself. For some reason, Blackpool has become a popular destination for Hen Weekends but you don’t have to travel far to enjoy yourselves.
There are lots of properties that will provide accommodation for hen weekends and some specialise in them although they may not have the facilities for the actual event. Probably the best approach is to decide on the venue before you decide on the details of the event and then make sure that there is sufficient accommodation for you in that locality. If you can, find accommodation that can sleep all of you so there will be no confusion later, especially after a few drinks, as to who is staying where.
The venue needs to be able to handle the numbers you are expecting to attend and very importantly, to be willing to allow whatever you have in mind for the evening’s entertainment. Might be better not to book the Church Hall if you are planning on male strippers, although its not impossible that you could as long as it’s a private event. Let the venue owners know what the evening is for and what you are planning. In many cases they can give you a lot of good advice and suggestions as to what works and what doesn’t. You don’t have to be outrageous nor does the event have to be a private affair. A night out in a good night club or lively pub could be just the ticket and a lot cheaper.
If you are staying away from home, make sure everyone knows where to go after the party. If you get split up late at night, it’s no fun looking for lost friends. Above all, enjoy yourselves but keep safe.
You can use the search facilities on the website to find accommodation that can sleep large parties. Select the location, the type of accommodation you want and set the minimum number of people it must be able to sleep and all the results returned will suit your needs.
