Marsh House is a large family home set in a private road providing ample parking in a peaceful, rural setting. We give a warm welcome to our guests who may be coming to see various friends or relations or who want to stay a few nights to explore the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, or we have long or short stays for people working nearby. We normally have just 5 guests so we can give them our personal attention. We strive to keep Marsh House as a family home rather than a larger more impersonal guest house.
All bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, and a tea tray and WiFi is available free in all the rooms. We have installed a water-softener to erase the local hard water! All bedrooms have garden views which is particularly important as we are surrounded by a beautiful verdant garden giving a feeling of peace and tranquillity.
Breakfast is served by a patio door overlooking the garden. Breakfast consists of a full English breakfast or an alternative Continental breakfast of cereals and toast, fruits and yoghurt. We always serve freshly made cafetiere coffee, and we have recently purchased an espresso machine to offer seriously delicious coffee. We also have a substantial choice of teas including fruit and herbal teas.
Many guests base themselves at Marsh House for a holiday as it is easily accessible from the M40, M4, A34 and A4074.
We are very near the Midsomer Murder television show locations and we have had guests base themselves here and enjoy all that the Midsomer Tours have to offer.
There are many other attractions to see for one-day visits locally and we are about an hour from London. There is local public transport available for those who stay without a car.
All our bedrooms have unique views over the garden. All rooms have a television with access to satellite programmes on request. There is a tray in each room to enable our guests to make tea and coffee when they want. All rooms have en suite facilities. The spacious twin-bedded room overlooks the front of the house which is approached by a tree-lined road in a private cul-de-sac. The ensuite bathroom has a large power shower. The bedroom has brand new comfortable beds that can be made into a superking-size double bed on request for 2 nights plus.
Our double room overlooks the back of the garden with fabulous views towards the famous Wittenham Clumps. Many beautiful sunsets have been witnessed from this room! The single room is also positioned at the back of the house, south facing, often making it a very sunny room.
Breakfast is served downstairs in a private room next to the kitchen. In the summer we often open the doors onto the patio as the room is south-facing and benefits from the morning sun.
There is a fridge for all our guests' use where they can help themselves to fresh milk as required.
