Warwick Castle
Traditionally the home of the Earl’s of Warwick, Warwick Castle stands on the raised land above the River Avon, in the town of Warwick, Warwickshire. It was built originally by King William the Conqueror in 1086. It is a wonderful example of an English castle and has been kept in a fine state of preservation. Today, it is one of the top ten most popular stately homes in Britain and attracts many hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world.
Warwick Castle has something for everyone, with high towers and a romantic setting, the castle has a museum, dark dungeons, stately rooms, a magnificent grand hall, ghosts, exhibitions and beautiful grounds with picnic areas. The Castle is now owned and operated by Tussauds Group who are part of Merlin Entertainment.
Parking is available at the castle but can be a good walk away. Access to Warwick and the castle, via junction 15 of the M40 and is well signposted. Post code for Sat Nav is CV34 4QU. Warwick Railway Station is one mile from the castle.
