The most visited city in the UK is of course London, which attractions millions of visitors each year, due to its many attractions and extensive history. There are many luxury hotels in London where you can stay in the utmost comfort, but London does offer a wide variety of options for those on a budget.

Buckingham palace is one of the most visited attractions, and there are plenty of hotels in London that are situated near to Buckingham palace, for example of Park Lane and the Hyde Park area. Other popular attractions include the Tower of London, London Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Madam Tussauds, as well as the various Museums.

One of the largest events in London is the Notting Hill Carnival, which is a two day event held during the August Bank Holiday, and consists of an extravagant display of about 20 miles of floats and costumes. There are many hotels in London that are close to the Notting Hill Carnival, such as those in the Paddington area, which are also close to the attractions in the West End. Wimbledon is one of best attended tennis tournaments in the World, combining a rich history and prestige with the best that tennis can offer. Wimbledon starts on the 3rd Monday in June, but of you want tickets, please apply early.

Some of the budget hotels in London can offer good value, especially for longer stays, and although they do not provide the same level of comfort as the more exclusive luxury hotels, they can still be found in central locations close to the major attractions.

If you are flexible with your travel arrangements you can also find good late deals, especially with the larger hotels in London, and out of season there are many bargains out there if you look hard enough. So although London is a relatively expensive city to visit, there are still ways to enjoy a trip to London on a budget.
