Glasgow Prestwick

The second International Airport in Glasgow, the other being Glasgow International Airport. Glasgow Prestwick is 32 miles from the city centre. It operates 24 hours a day and handles around 2 million passengers every year and is Scotland’s largest commercial traffic airport.

It has two runways and a single terminal building. After a chequered history as an US airbase and a freight airport, the future for Glasgow Prestwick Airport looks to be one of growth, partly due to its good transport links.

The main airlines using Glasgow Prestwick are Ryanair and Flybe. Glasgow Prestwick has a rail service (unlike Glasgow International Airport and there are plans to expand the airport facilities. Access by road via the A79, bus services provided via Stagecoach and rail services via Glasgow Prestwick Airport Railway Station. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is owned by Infratil and operated by Glasgow Prestwick Airport Ltd.
