Belfast International Airport
This airport operates 24 hours a day and is located 13 miles northwest of Belfast city in Northern Ireland, and 11 miles from Antrim. The airport handles over 4.5 million passengers and it is the main airport in Northern Ireland and the second busiest in the whole of Ireland after Dublin.
It was formerly know as Aldergrove Airport, named after the village of Aldergrove which is to the west of the facility. Civil and commercial flights commenced in 1963.
The main airlines using the facility are Aer Lingus, Bmibaby, Easyjet, jet2.com. The airport has road access from the M2 motorway, bus services via Translink from the Belfast City Centre and is poorly served by rail via the nearest station which is Antrim Railway station, located 6 miles way. A rail bus service operates between the station and the airport. The airport is owned by Abertis.
