London Biggin Hill Airport
Once a famous World War II Air Force Station, Biggin Hill is now one of London’s four main airports. It handles a wide range of traffic from business passenger traffic to business jets. It is located 14 miles southeast of London, on a hill top to the north of the town of Biggin Hill in the Borough of Bromley.
The airport has two runways in an “L” shaped format and the longer runway is useable by aircraft up to the size of the Boeing 747 and the Airbus A320. It has a passenger lounge, departure lounges with catering facilities and customs and immigration facilities on site.
The airport is an important training centre for both private and professional pilots. It has a service centre for aircraft and it is and engineering and technology centre.
Access to the Airport by rails is either Bromley South Railway Station or Orpington Railway Station. The is a tram link facility between Wimbledon and New Addington and the airport is a short taxi ride away. By road, the airport is on the A233.
